By bringing together the exotic instrumentation of world music with a new age-style sense of self-exploration and a broad palette of ambient electronic sounds, producer/multi-instrumentalist Anugama garnered enough of a small cult following to sustain a prolific, long-winded career. Though born in Cologne, Germany, where he first developed his exceptional interest in music, Anugama’s curiosity took him to far and distant lands. He spent his teens in Hamburg, where he played drums and worked in a music store, before traveling to Asia in his twenties for a life-changing five-year period. While in Asia, he developed a strong interest in spiritual philosophies and meditation. These interests soon crept into Anugama’s music, which had expanded to comprise his multi-cultural interests: the beats of African and Caribbean music, the rhythms of Hawaii, the meditations of India, and so on. Anugama began releasing one album after another throughout the ’80s that explored his many interests, with him playing all the instruments. Throughout the ’90s, he didn’t slow down his output, remaining as prolific as before, astounding his cult following with his limitless well of creativity.

If you think about the meaning of human existence, we can conclude that the meaning of life is only if the ultimate goal is love. At the same time, we can see that the love that we are trying to find in the outside world is not the highest love, pure love. Such love bears the imprint of greed and personal gain, but also due to the material body in which we find ourselves in this life. That is why this love almost always with time running out and no longer brings so much joy and happiness. The real love can only be generous, but even the feeling that unselfish love for someone, we do not always have the guarantee to be as disinterested loved in return. So it turns out that the search for true love in this world is doomed to failure. But despite this, people still looking for in this life, the perfect ideal of love, even if it sometimes seems that such a goal totally unattainable.

The Vedas say that no living creature in all creation does not love us really, and no living creature in this material world will not be able to take us to the end so we are, that is, with all of our sins, faults and imperfections. How would a person do not want such a relationship with another, it is impossible. However, if you think about it, because if we feel such a need and if we have the desire to find such a person, then it exists. Where is the search for this person, and who is this person?

The Vedas have answered this question – only the Supreme Personality of God truly loves us is stronger than all the rest. Only God is truly needed in our relationship, and the only one He is waiting always – when we come back to Him. God so kind that supports infinite material universes each living creature: and the little worm, and a big elephant and a giant blue whale, which lives in the ocean – they all live in a supportive environment and everyone is getting the right amount of food. The Supreme Personality cares about every tiny creature in this world and gives everyone the necessities of life. But only a few of the infinite number of sentient beings, who received a human body can experience this care and love of God. That’s why loving devotional service to God is the supreme method of purification of human consciousness.

To start a devotional service, we need to use the process of yoga.

Few people today know that the Sanskrit word “yoga” come from word “yuj”, that is meaning – a bond. This implies contact the individual soul and the Supreme Supersoul. This is not gymnastics, it became fashionable to understand today. If your yoga classes do not lead you to realize your relationship with God, you do what you want, but not yoga …

The method of hearing and chanting the holy names of God is the recommended process most efficient, we can say – “Rapid Communications” of the soul with God. That is why this collection of my latest favorite composite, I decided to call Yoga. Listening to this music can be combined with pleasure and enjoy the beautiful songs, along with the awakening of consciousness and purification.

Music and nature have always gone hand in hand for Rudy Adrian. He first started making electronic music while studying Forestry Science at the University of Canterbury, and in the following years at the University of Otago while completing a degree in Botany.

The natural world continues to be a common thread in Rudy Adrian’s music through the exploration of sonic landscapes, where melody and rhythm play a secondary role to the tones and textures created by synthesizers, wood flutes and the human voice.

Rudy Adrian – Desert Realms

Rudy Adrian’s Lotuspike debut, MoonWater, was a beautifully crafted study in deeply serene and contemplative soundscapes. His new release, Desert Realms, follows that same stylistic path, exploring the spectacular stillness and vast landscape of the American Southwest desert.

Explains Rudy, “I was fortunate to spend a weekend exploring The Arches and Canyon Lands National Parks in Utah, USA. My tour guides were electronic musician Robert Carty and his partner Patricia Sandoval, who showed me a number of their favourite locations in the North American desert. On returning to New Zealand I became interested in creating music inspired by that journey.”

Rudy’s compositions are by themselves both vast and serene, but an additional level of emotion is provided by the poignant and moving flute expressions of Nick Prosser on a few of the tracks. Prosser’s stirring musical statements interact with Rudy’s vast soundscapes, filling the spectacular sonic vista with just the right amount of life and feeling; reminding the listener that although the desert realms may appear at first stark and barren, they are in fact full of life and captivating beauty.
