It’s an album of traditional music Himalayan country – Nepal. Nepal borders with India and China (Tibet), so this country, being on the border of two great Asian cultures brought by fate out of their vast domain the various elements. Thus, the Nepali folk lean towards the Indian manner of performance.

The album contains the most popular folk songs of Nepal, which are performed on sitar, tabla, Sarang, flute and other ethnic instruments of this mountainous country. Most of these songs – very funny, rhythmic and fiery.

In an attempt to preserve the Nepali classic and folk music, Sur Sudha Records is Proud to present this collection of popular Nepali Folk Songs in compact disc for the first time in Nepal. In this collection all the music collected, Songs and arranged by renowned musicians and singers of Nepal.

Nepal is country with many different communities and different landscapes plain in the south region to the mountain region in the North. Each community has their own folk-lores and musical instrument. Most of the folk-lores express the daily activities festivals and their life.

Additional music and percussion by Sur Sudha. Digitally remixed by Sanjay Shrestha at Omniphonics digital sound studio, Katmandu, 2053 Bikram era (1996 a.d.).

Sur Sudha is known as Nepal’s MUSICAL AMBASSADORS’ and are devoted to making music to disseminate a universal message of peace and harmony supporting the effort alleviate poverty from the face of the earth.
